Cook Steamed Rice in 5 Easy Steps

2 gloves Garlic, minced

4 pcs Shrimp big, thinly sliced, diced (Optional)

500 grams Pork Loin small diced size marinated with 1 Kalamansi and 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce

1 pack of LAMOii Steamed Rice Ready Mix 195 g

1 cup Green Peas (Optional)

1 medium size Onion, minced

1600 ml Water

1/2 cup Cornstarch mix with 1/2 cup water to make a slurry mixture

Step one

Sauté Aromatics

Sauté (gisahin) Onion and Garlic in a Deep Pan with heated Oil for about 30 seconds.

Heat the cooking oil over medium heat in a deep pan or pot. Once shimmering, add the minced garlic and sliced onions. Sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant and the onions turn translucent. Be careful not to burn the garlic, which can taste bitter.

Add your marinated pork loin to the pan. Increase the heat to medium-high, and pan-fry the pork for about 3 minutes on each side or until it develops a beautiful golden-brown sear. This helps to lock in the juices and flavor of the meat. Ensure the pork is cooked through but still tender.

Step Two

Sear the Pork

Add the Marinated Pork Loin, pan-fry for 3 mins. With medium heat or until meat is cooked.

Step three

Introduce rice and vegetables

Add 1 pack of LAMOii Steamed Rice Ready Mix together with the diced Shrimp and Green Peas and stew for 1 to 2 minutes.

Next, add the LAMOii Steamed Rice Ready Mix pack to the pan. Along with the rice, toss in your diced shrimp and green peas. Stir everything together gently, allowing the rice to absorb some of the flavors from the pork and aromatics. Continue to cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.

Pour in 1600 ml of water to cover the ingredients, and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, gradually add your slurry mixture (likely cornstarch and water) while continuously stirring. This will help to thicken the sauce and create a luscious consistency. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the sauce has reached your desired thickness.

Step Four

Simmer and Thicken

Add 1600 ml of water and bring to boil.

Step Five

Serve and Enjoy

Add the slurry mixture with continuous stirring while boiling. Serve hot on top of rice!

Taste the dish and adjust the seasonings if needed. Serve your delicious pork adobo hot over a bed of steamed white rice. For an extra touch, garnish with chopped green onions or a sprinkle of black pepper.
